Spend a delightful morning with Brooke Munro leaning an introduction to the art of basketry coiling.
In this class Brooke will be demonstrating varied techniques and will be hands on when teaching a variety of stitches and wrapping styles. You will have an endless supply of Mr & Mrs Munro's hand dyed raffia, which is well renown and sold globally.
This class is perfect for beginners through to the more experience maker, you will learn and practise many aspects of basket making with both traditional and explorative techniques.
The class will be held in the creative space of Made By Me Workshop in St Peters, where you'll be surrounded by inspiration and fueled with yummy snacks. The atmosphere is relaxed and supportive, making it the perfect setting to explore your creativity. Join us for this exciting workshop and take the first step in your basketry journey. About Brooke
Brooke is a Southern Highlands Sculptural Textiles Artist raised in Burrawang NSW. She studied a Bachelor of Creative Arts at
Wollongong University where she was under the tuition of textiles artist Virginia Kaiser.
She currently runs a small creative business with her husband called ‘Mr and Mrs Munro’ which has been featured in national publications including Country Style, Home Beautiful and Belle Magazine. Brooke exhibits her sculpture regularly and draws inspiration from nature, femininity and traditional craft.
